Our Chapter Back Home | Who are the Johns Hopkins Alpha Phis?Every chapter of Alpha Phi is different. At Hopkins, we pride ourselves on being a diverse, intelligent, laid back group of women who still love to have fun! Above all, we embody the "three C's" -- Cool, Classy, and Confident. Currently we are around 100 members strong, so you can spot an Alpha Phi pretty much anywhere on campus -- just look for the red tote bags! Our commitment to scholarship is reflected in our chapter's overall GPA, which is well above both the all-Greek average and the JHU female undergraduate average. Each semester several of our junior and senior members are accepted into the Greek honor society, Order of Omega, and the sorority recognition society, Rho Lambda. Some of our outstanding members have also been recognized individually, winning Greek awards for academics, leadership and involvement. 2007 - 2008 award recipients: Elena Fedysyn (Outstanding Greek Junior), Naomi Sell (Outstanding Greek Sophomore) and Megan Maguire (Senior Athletic Excellence Award). Current number of Order of Omega members: 5; Current number of Rho Lambda members: 4 Honor Societies our sisters are involved in include: Alpha Epsilon Delta, National Society of Collegiate Scholars, Omicron Delta Kappa, Order of Omega, Phi Alpha Theta, Nu Rho Psi, Rho Lambda, Pi Sigma Alpha, Golden Key International Honor Society, Latina Pre-Health Honors Society, Women's Pre-Health Leadership Society SocialAlpha Phis still make time to have fun! We hold several formals, date parties, and theme parties during the semester at off-campus venues. Between these dances we organize several sister events during the semester, including small group dinners, ice skating, even ghost walks in Fell's Point. Whether it's getting all dressed up to go to a formal or just hanging out and watching TV, there's no doubt that an Alpha Phi sister will be there for you! For more information about events we host on campus, check out the events page.
